How to Apply Your Iron-On Fabric Patch
For best results, follow these steps! Patch should not be adhered to nylon, rayon, silk, satin, vinyl, or loose-knit materials.
Iron-On Application:
- Peel the paper backing from the patch to reveal the adhesive.
- Place the patch on the garment, adhesive side down.
- Cover with a thin cloth to protect the patch.
- Press firmly with a medium-hot iron (no steam) for 10-30 seconds. Time may vary, so check if the edges are glued every 10 seconds.
- Allow to cool, then press from the inside of the garment for an additional 30 seconds.
- Let cool completely before wearing or washing.
- Stitch around the perimeter of the patch if it is in a heavy wear area of your garment.
Care Instructions:
- Turn the garment inside out before washing.
- Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water.
- Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
- Tumble dry on low or hang to dry.
- If the edges begin to lift, re-press with an iron or add a few stitches around the border.
With proper care, your patch will last longer! Happy crafting!
